Ava has been adopted!
Ava/Venus has been adopted!

Ava is also known as Venus
Dog friendly, but would love to be the only pet.
Cat Friendly- Unknown, gets along with chickens!
Ava loves people of all ages!
Ava was relinquished to the shelter because her owner
became homeless. This young lady was dropped at the
shelter pregnant AND with her six month old daughter
(her daughter was adopted).
Poor Ava had a rough time at the shelter, and was
attacked several times by other dogs which had escaped
from their runs.
Her luck changed little at two previous foster homes, as
she was attacked several times by much larger dogs than
herself. These attacks were caused by Avas' attempt to
initiate play with older dogs that didn't want to play. That
being said, Ava can become uncomfortable around some
strange dogs, and will back off and avoid them.
Ava is a smart young lady, very eager to please humans,
and is quickly learning basic obedience commands (sit,
down, up, off, Leave-it, come here, stay, and kennel-up).
Miss Ava walks well on the leash, and for all you dog
obedience savvy people, Ava is learning the "finish"
command.
Ava rides well in the car, is crate trained, house broken,
non-destructive in the house, and learning not to jump on
furniture. She will sneak up on the couch to take a nap
when no one is looking.
Ava loves nothing more (well other than food)than
meeting new people of all ages, and is learning to stay
calm while greeting. She wiggles from head to tail.
Ava loves playing with toys, especially squeaky toys, and
is learning how to play fetch.
Besides playing with toys, Avas favorite past time is
eating, and is currently on a very necessary diet. When
Ava's food is empty, she will actually carry her bowl over
to the dog food bag, sit, and wait patiently until her bowl
is filled.
Avas ideal home would include a fenced yard, 5’ or taller
and a family that loves her.
Ava has a wonderfully sweet and sound disposition, and is
settling down as far as activity level is concerned but is
best suited for children 8 and up.
